Unique Pairing In Clare SHC Final

A unique pairing awaits in the 2018 Clare Senior Hurling Championship Final.

Cratloe and Ballyea will go head to head in the decider for the first time after both came through stiff challenges in their last four ties.

2016 Munster champions Ballyea withstood a strong test from O’Callaghans Mills before coming out on the right side of a 1-21 to 1-17 scoreline thanks in part to a personal tally of 1-9 for Tony Kelly.

Manager Kevin Sheehan says they were prepared for real test.

Meanwhile Cratloe are back into the final for the first time since their double winning year of 2014.

The south east Clare men edged a nervy contest with Kilmaley as they won by 1-14 to 0-16.

It was a game that produced more wides than scores but Cratloe boss Alan Neville felt the conditions were tricky to deal with.

They will meet in the final in two weeks time.

Elsewhere the intermediate final will be contested between Feakle and Tubber after wins over Scariff and Corofin respectively while the Junior A title will be going to either O’Callaghan’s Mills or Eire Óg.
