Miltown Gaa has confirmed to Clare FM that they have nominated Michael "Malty" Mc Donagh for the position of Clare Gaa chairman.
Mc Donagh previously held the position until 2007 when he was succeed by Ballyea’s Michael O Neill who is stepping down next month
Clare FM understands that a number of other West Clare clubs have also nominated the current Children’s officer ahead of the December 18th Convention.
Michael Mc Donagh was previously county chairman up to 2007 and was last year elected as children’s officer.
He is only the second confirmed candidate to succeed Michael O Neill as Clare chairman while Noel O Driscoll has also confirmed that he will be seeking Clare GAA’s top positon.
Convention will also see the election of a new PRO to succeed Syl O’Connor with Ruan’s Des Crowe the favoured candiate.
The assistant secretary role will therefore become vacant with Anne Hayes nominated for that role along with the position of Cultural officer as Tom Burke steps aside.
