Tulla will be looking to return to the senior ranks of Clare club hurling for the first time since 2019 after a dominant second half display saw them sweep aside Sixmilebridge’s second string in Clarecastle.
The first half was truly the Withycombe show in Clarecastle as brothers Sean (0-07, 6f) and Dan (0-01) produced all of Tulla’s first half efforts to lead by 0-8 to 0-06 at the interval.
Tulla were methodically ruthless in their dispatching of their opponents in the second half, hitting six of the first seven points on the restart while going on to outscore Sixmilebridge by 2-15 to 1-05 in the period.
A Dylan Downe’s goal for the Bridge on forty-two minutes briefly threatened some respite cutting the gap back to three , however goals from Darragh Corry and a penalty from Seán Withycombe who would finish the day with a personal tally of 1-16 sent Tulla decisively through to the Intermediate final.
It finished in Clarecastle, Tulla 2-23 to Sixmilebridge’s 1-11
Tulla will now be hoping to win the club’s second ever Intermediate title, with the last arriving in 1979.
