The manager of the Tubber hurlers admits his side are facing a heavy defeat to Newmarket in this weekend’s County Championship quarter-final, if they do not produce a strong performance.

Tubber take on Newmarket on Fergus in the first part of a double header at Clarecastle this Saturday, and Pat O’Connor admits that they’ve reached their goal for the year by reaching the last eight.
He says any further progression would be a bonus, but is adament that is the goal as they prepare to take on the 2008 finalists. He’s called on his players to play to the best of their abilities.
