There were mixed emotions for Quin trainer Malachy Hassett at Sligo last evening.

Malachy should have been celebrating after Lough Donnell Mist won the Mares’ Maiden Hurdle but instead he was left heartbroken after the 9-4 winning favourite collapsed and died shortly after the race.
Lough Donnell Mist had stayed on strongly under Danny Howard to win by ten lengths but suffered a suspected heart-attack minutes later which was disastrous news for Hassett and owner Michael Callinan.
