Between 1966 and 1980, Treacy won 42 international caps, while his playing career took him to the likes of Charlton, two spells at West Brom, and Shamrock Rovers.

It was at Rovers where he'd achieve his high watermark as a manager, leading the Hoops to the League title in 1994.

Away from the field he ran a successful travel business, and worked for a time as a TV pundit.

He passed away yesterday following a short illness.
