Trapp hopes Italy win will bolster Republic’s future performance

Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni says he may organize more friendlies to discover players and give fringe squad members more game time.

The republic of Ireland beat Italy 2-0 in Belgium last night thanks to goals from Keith Andrews and Simon Cox.

The manager says he knew they were right to play an extra friendly despite the criticism.
