Trap standing firm despite pressure for him to resign

Even as he prepares his side to take on the Faroe Islands in tomorrows World Cup qualifier the pressure is on Giovanni Trapattoni to step down  following Fridays 6-1 defeat to Germany at the Aviva.

The 73 year old says he has no intention of quitting despite reports suggesting that possible replacements including Mick Mc Carthy, Rafa Benitez and Roy Keane are being linked to the job.

The Star newspaper are suggesting that Trap had a massive row with a player at training yesterday but the player will stay with the squad and travel to the Faroe’s.
