Trap Names Team For Poland Clash

Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni says he’s looking forward to watching how Shane Long and Conor Sammon play together after naming his team for tomorrow’s friendly against Poland.

Sammon is set to make his international debut after being included in the starting side for the game and Trapattoni believes that the pair could form an effective partnership.

Greg Cunningham also makes a welcome return to the Ireland team after being named at left-back in a defence that also contains Paul McShane, John O’Shea and Ciaran Clark.

As expected, Millwall’s David Forde will start in goal.

Robbie Brady and James McClean will operate on the wings with Glen Whelan joined in centre midfield by James McCarthy.
