Tipperary manager praises team’s performance

Tipperary manager Declan Ryan says he’s pleased with the spirit his side showed during yesterdays 4 point win over Limerick in their Munster Championship quarter final at Semple Stadium.

The Premier trailed by 6 points at one stage in the second half but a goal from Brian O’Meara landed them back in the game.

Last year’s beaten All-Ireland football finalists Kerry got their campaign underway with a win against Tipperary. The Kingdom won by 16 points to 10.

In Leinster meanwhile, Meath defeated Wicklow by 16 points to 11 in the Leinster Championship first round in Dr Cullen Park.

In Ulster, Monaghan defeated Antrim by 1-12 to 1-9 in Clones in their provincial quarter final.
