The pair will be the final group to tee-off this afternoon at the K Club when they resume from 8-under par, which leaves them just ahead of Rory McIlroy.
The tournament host is in out-right third place on 7-under as the seeks to win his first Irish Open title.
The world number three is delighted that it's all set-up to be a cracking weekend…
McIlroy will be paired in the penultimate group by England's Matthew Southgate who is in fourth place on 5-under.
Of the rest of the Irish, Paul McGinley, Graeme McDowell and Gavin Moynihan are the best-placed to make an impact – they'll all resume from 1-under par later this morning.
