There were six teams in action today in Round Two of the Clare Senior Hurling Championship.
First off was Eire Og and Whitegate who met in Sixmilebridge at 1.30.
The Townies won that encounter after a late goal apiece from Shane O’Donnell and Barry Nugent gave them the edge.
Whitegate raised the green flag three times but it wasn’t to be, with the final score 2-18 to the gate’s 3-7.
Meanwhile, Wolfe Tones and O’Callaghan’s Mills had a tight encounter in their round two clash.
That one went to extra time where a Jacob Loughnane goal secured the win for the Mills.
The final score in that game was O’Callagan’s Mills 2-20, Wolfe Tones 24 points.
Then in the day’s late game, Clonlara and Inagh/Kilnamona squared up for the final spot in the last eight.
A goal helped Clonlara to a 1-19 to 13 point win in that game.
