Clare ladies football boss Evan Talty feels maximising their scoring opportunities will be key if they are to advance to the All Ireland intermediate semi final.

Defeat to Louth in their final group game saw Clare finish second in the group standings, and they now face a Longford side who had wins over Kildare and Roscommon in their round robin campaign.

Clare scored 1-17 in their victory over Down in Newry, but the concession of two goals against Louth in Cusack Park saw them lose out by 2-8 to 1-10.

Talty says while the result that day was disappointing, he is confident it is something they will learn from.
