Swim Ireland to discuss possible Bryan appeal

The board of Swim Ireland are to discuss a possible legal challenge on behalf of Shannon swimmer Chris Bryan tonight.

It follows yesterday’s disappointment for the Clareman, who has been told that the place he had been hoping to secure has instead been given to a swimmer from Guam.

His father Rob Bryan has told Clare FM that he is considering a legal challenge against the ruling, and that could be taken on his behalf by the governing body for the sport here.

A spokesperson for Swim Ireland has told Clare FM that all factors will be considered, including the cost and likelihood of success, before a final decision on the matter will be taken.
