Steven Pienaar gave Everton the lead after only 63 seconds but Frank Lampard equalised for Chelsea three minutes before the break.

Lampard got his second 18 minutes from time to hand Everton their first league defeat of the season at Goodison Park.

The result leaves Chelsea eleven points behind leaders Manchester United but they have a game in hand.

Chelsea keeper Petr Cech went off at half time with an ankle injury so Ross Turnbull replaced him.
