Clare won’t be repeating their 2019 Munster League success after Limerick took a commanding victory in Sixmilebridge this afternoon and ended their run in the competition.

The 2018 All Ireland winners made the trip across the border to O’Garney Park this afternoon with the winner due to meet Cork in the final next weekend.

The mood for the afternoon was set early on as Clare allowed eight points unanswered during the first half as the Shannonsiders put on a show of strength.

However, Brian Lohan’s side rallied before the end of the half and scored five of seven scores towards the half-time whistle which left them three points apart by the break.

The Limerick dominance continued in the second half, though and a late Aaron Shanagher goal did little to dent the lead Limerick had secured.

It ended 1-27 to 1-19 in favour of John Kiely’s men, who now go on to play Cork next Sunday.

Clare’s next competitive fixture is a home fixture against Carlow in Cusack Park in the opening round of the National League on Sunday, January 26th.
