Fitzgibbon Cup Final: UL: 4-19 V University Of Galway 1-13
A significant Clare cohort will pocket Fitzgibbon Cup winner’s medals following the University Of Limerick’s victory over the University Of Galway this afternoon.
The Scariff duo of Mark Rodgers and Patrick Crotty, Clarecastle’s Cian Galvin & Killian McDermott and Smith O’Brien’s Mike Gough all saw action for the back to back champions throughout the campaign, while Eire Óg’s Darren O’Brien captained the beaten finalists.
Mark Rodgers scored two points to help UL well on their way to victory on a full time score of 4-19 to 1-13 in the WIT Sports Ground, with all four majors coming from the stick of Waterford’s Mikey Kiely.
The win marks the University of Limerick’s eighth Fitzgibbon cup success.
