Penalties Foil Newmarket Celtic Again

For the second successive week, Newmarket Celtic suffered the frustration of penalty shoot out elimination as they exited the Munster Junior Cup.

Limerick’s Pike Rovers prevailed 3-2 on penalties after the teams finished level 1-1 following 120 minutes.

The Clare champions lost to Tipperary’s St. Michael’s just six days earlier in the Champions Trophy Final.

In other news, Newmarket Celtic have announced that Harvey Cullinan has signed for Sheffield United.

The 17-year-old will join the professional development squad in Brammal Lane.

Cullinan is the first player to come through the Clare Schoolboys Elite Training Programme.
