Sixmilebridge boss John O'Meara says his side are determined to get the defence of their Clare Senior Hurling title back on track this weekend.
They take on Kilmaley in the pick of the second round ties, with the losers exiting the race for the Canon Hamilton and facing a relegation scrap.
The Bridge were faced with the same scenario in 2014 when they were also defending champions, and got the better of Kilmaley on that occasion to avoid dropping into the relegation playoffs.
O'Meara feels another intruiging battle lies ahead.
