Seán Stack’s Men have continued their winning streak in the Clare Senior Hurling Championship and can now firmly set their focus on the Quarter Final Draw following a commanding victory over Clonlara in Shannon.
Having secured top spot in the Group One standings before Referee Jarlath Donnellan threw in the sliotar at the Wolfe Tones GAA grounds, the champions of 2020 could afford to rest key players such as Cathal Malone and Jamie Shanahan.
Despite not employing all resources at their disposal, the favourites accounted for their opponents with aplomb with a Shane Golden brace of majors in addition to a Brian Corry green flag proving to be the difference.
It finished in Shannon, 3-18 to 0-19 in favour of Sixmilebridge.
The result means that the Bridge will take a top seed draw into the last eight while Clonlara bow out of the Clare Senior Hurling Championship in the no mans land of fourth position, safe from relegation, yet without the prospect of the Senior B competition to come.
