Clare has enjoyed another historic night at the 2024 All Star Awards.
Six of Brian Lohan’s All Ireland hurling winners picked up accolades for their performances in 2024, while the top individual prizes also went to Clare men.
Adam Hogan and David McInerney were selected in defence, captain Tony Kelly was chosen at midfield while three of the six forward positions went to David Fitzgerald, Shane O’Donnell and Mark Rodgers.
O’Donnell was named Hurler of the Year, while Hogan continued his remarkable season by being crowned the Young Hurler of the Year.
O’Donnell becomes just the fourth ever player to win the award, following in the footsteps of Brian Lohan, Jamesie O’Connor and Tony Kelly.
Kelly himself made history by becoming the first Clare man to win five All Star awards, while Hogan is the fourth Clare man to win the Young Hurler accolade, and the second in a row after Mark Rodgers was chosen in 2023.
