Ireland’s Martin Irvine has won a silver medal at the scratch race at the World Championships overnight.

Defending champion Irvine finished behind Ivan Kovalev in the 60 lap 15 kilometre race.
Ryan Mullen came 4th in the individual pursuit while Irvine came 12th in that race.
