Munster hooker Mike Sherry will fly to New Zealand as cover for Rory Best ahead of the World cup quarter final with Wales on Saturday in Wellington.
Best suffered a sprained A/C joint in his shoulder in the win against Italy on Sunday and Team Manager Paul Mc Naughton says while he remains a member of the squad he is doubtful for the game, Sherry will not be able to train with the squad unless Best is officially ruled out of the tournament.
Wales are coached by former Connacht and Ireland supremo Warren Gatland and Irish backs coach Alan Gaffney admires what he has done with the Dragons.
