The Clare Hurlers have paid tribute to the sacrifices made by their club teammates as today they end a 20 week wait to get the club championship back underway, after All Ireland success.
There are five games in round two of the Senior Championship this afternoon, with one Intermediate championship playoff.
Defending their Canon Hamilton title Newmarket take can take top spot on the group 1 table with victory over Tulla in the opening game of the weekend’s action, that’s underway in Clarecastle from 2.
There’s a double header in Cusack Park – at 3 Clooney Quin and Sixmilebridge both target their first win in group 3, while that’s followed at 4.30 by the group 2 meeting of Cratloe and St Josephs where both sides are again targeting their first 2 points of the campaign.
In round 2 of the Senior B championship, there’s another double header in Sixmilebrige.
First up at three O’Callaghan’s Mills take on Ruan, both sides going into the game with a win under their belts,
At 4:30 it’s the senior B group 1 clash of Eire Og and Smith O’Briens, that’s a battle for 2 points after both registering opening round defeats.
There’s also one Intermediate Championship playoff this afternoon where Clarecastle meet Parteen – that’s fixed for Shannon at 2.
