Next year’s Munster Football Championship will see the return of a seeded draw.
It comes after a Munster Council meeting last night supported a change in format, which had been suggested by the Provincial Competitions Control Committee.
Cork and Kerry will be drawn into separate semi-finals for 2014, with Clare and the three other Munster sides meeting first in Quarter-Finals.
It’s understood Clare voted against the plan at last night’s meeting.
Munster chiefs have made it clear that a decider between Cork and Kerry generates more revenue for the province, but the decision makes it more unlikely that there will be an upset in the province’s main football competition.
Clare’s title of 1992 is the only time in nearly 80 years that a team other than Cork and Kerry have won the competition.
