Scariff Community College are All Ireland Champions.

The East Clare side faced Laois’ St Fergal’s Rathdowney in Toomevara to fight for the All Ireland College’s C Hurling Final title.

First blood went to St Fergal’s but a tenth minute goal from Mark Rodgers gave Scariff the lead.

Martin Walsh followed that up with a second goal for the side just two minutes later, while a third goal came from Ciaran Keenan in the seventeenth minute.

Scariff were 3-3 to 0-6 up at the half point mark but showed no sign of slowing down in the second half, as Michael Hynes buried a penalty four minutes after the resumption of play.

A fifth and final goal for the Clare side came in the fourty-fifth minute as Fergus Madden hit the back of the net.

The score at this point stood at 5-9 to 0-10 and a St Fergal’s resurgence seemed unlikely with fifteen minutes to go.

The Laois side battled on, however and scored two goals of their own: Chris Rafter netting two goals from frees in the 54th and 57th minutes.

A third attempt at goal from the Laois side was deflected away as the final whistle approached, leaving Sean McNamara’s side comfortably in the lead.

Full time score in Toomevara was Scariff 5-10, St Fergal’s Rathdowney 2-11.
