Saturday Clare GAA Preview

While most of the attention is on tomorrow’s National Football League clash between Clare and Offaly, Saturday also sees some GAA action of interest to Clare fans.

At least one Clareman is guaranteed to secure a Fitzgibbon Cup winners medal as the final is held in Galway this afternoon when UCC take on Mary Immaculate.

Clonlara’s John Conlon captains the Limerick college – his clubmates Cillian Fennessy and Colm Galvin are also set to line out in that one.  Ruan’s Killian Ryan could feature for the Cork outfit, who are the defending champions.

Throw in at Pearse Stadium is half-two.

In camogie’s Munster Under16 Championship Clare take on Cork in Feakle.   Throw-in there is it 12 o’clock.

In gaelic football news, today also sees a full round of fixtures in the Clare Under 16 Leagues, as well as the clash of Clare and Tipperary in the Munster U14B Ladies Football Championship.  Throw-in in Kildysart is at 1:00.

Meanwhilein handball, the O’Neills All Ireland 40×20 Open Championships reach their Quarter Finals this afternoon.

Clare’s Diarmaid Nash aims for a place in the last four of the men’s event when he takes on Kerryman Dominic Lynch.

That match in Broadford in Limerick gets underway at 4:00.
