The Republic of Ireland will open their World cup campaign away to Kazakstan in September 2012, they’ll host Germany at home the following month and the final game of 2012 will be away to the Faroe Islands.
The campaign will end at home to Kazakstan with the match away to Germany 4 days before on October 11th 2013.
Giovanni Trapattoni has welcomed the schedule saying it has a good balance to the matches finishing the campaign at home and starting with a single away match was important given the long distances involved
Sepp Blatter has apologised but refuses to resign in the wake of his comments about racism in football.
The FIFA Chief executive dismissed racism on the pitch in two separate tv interviews this week.
75 year old Blatter has been under intense pressure from figures in and outside of the game in recent days but insists he is not resigning.
