Reidy: Townies Have Taken Learnings Along The Road To Clare Hurling Final

Eire Og’s David Reidy is praising the Townies willingness to learn as a key factor in their run to this year’s Clare senior hurling final.

A first showpiece event in 22 years awaits in Cusack Park on Sunday afternoon, where defending champions Ballyea stand in their way of the Canon Hamilton.

Mattie Shannon’s side lost their opening round game to Kilmaley, but are unbeaten since that outing as they bid to claim the title for the first time since 1990.

County star Reidy says they have taken learnings from each tie, and are ready to produce their best showing of the year on Sunday

Meanwhile Ballyea boss Robbie Hogan says their success over the last few years has been driven by the players.

Since winning their maiden title in 2016, the club has gone on to claim the Canon Hamilton twice more since 2018, and have reached back-to-back finals for the first time in their history this year.

Hogan says it is a great achievement, but knows there is another step to go on this journey

Throw in on Sunday afternoon in Cusack Park is at 3pm with commentary on Clare FM with O’Sullivan Hansbury Motors, Kilrush Road, Ennis
