The draws for the 2018 Clare Senior Hurling Championship Quarter Finals will be made this evening.

The race for the title was narrowed down to the last eight after this weekends action.

Sixmilebridge, Ballyea, Eire Óg and Clooney/Quin were already safely through after winning their opening two games.

Those four sides will be in one pot for tonights draw and will take on one of the Round Three winners.

O’Callaghans Mills were the first team to come through into that pot with a comfortable win over Wolfe Tones, hitting five goals in the process.

Cratloe also bounced back to winning ways with Riain Considine’s goal helping them on the way to victory over Clarecastle.

Kilmaley withstood the challenge of Tulla to advance while three late points saw Inagh/Kilnamona overcome a huge test from Crusheen.

This weekend also saw two more teams move one step closer to relegation as St Josephs and Whitegate both suffered their third consecutive defeat.

The Parish lost to Clonlara after a late rally saw the south east Clare men over the line while Whitegate were beaten by Newmarket

The draws for the senior and intermediate quarter finals get underway this evening at Clare GAA Headquarters in Clareabbey from 6.30pm.
