Quin/Clooney Win Best Involved Area At Annual Community Games Awards

Clare Community Games hosted a successful night last night for the annual All Star awards at the West County Hotel.

Over 350 children and adults attended the function including the Mayor of Ennis Mary Coote Ryan, Cllr Tony Mulqueen Representing the Mayor of Clare, Bishop of Killaloe Kieran O Reilly, Padraic McNicholas Managing Director Munster group sponsors of the Awards, and Chief Superintendent John Kerin. 
 
Three members of the All Ireland winning Clare Senior and Under 21 squads were also in attendance, with David McInerney, Podge Collins and Peter Duggan presenting the All Star awards.
 
69 Clare youngsters were awarded for their talent and contributions to the games, while also on the night Quin/Clooney were announced the winners of the "Best Involved Area" in the County and go forward to the National Finals in November.
 
They are hopeful of retaining the All Ireland crown which they won in 2012.
 
Joe Lynch of Ennis St Johns was presented with the "Hall of Fame Award for his sterling service to the Games at both Area and County.
 
Next on a busy calendar for Clare Community Games is their AGM on Tuesday November 5th in the West County Hotel Ennis at 8pm.
