The first meeting of the new year saw the provisional Master Fixtures Plan unveiled.

The first action of the new season will come with the U21 hurling championship on the weekend of March 11th, with the first round of football's Cusack Cup also set for that date.

The opening round of the Clare Cup is set for the first weekend of April, the same dates as the National Hurling League Quarter Finals and Relegation Playoff.

It's proposed that Round One of the Clare Senior Football Championship will be on the weekend of May 6th, with the Hurling Championship throwing in a week later.

Round Two of the Football Championship is set for June 17th and 18th, depending on the progress of the county side.

No date has yet been proposed for Round Two of the hurling.

The meeting also heard an application from Sixmilebridge that their Junior A championship winning side be allowed continue at that grade, with this request to be considered by clubs and a decision taken at the next meeting on February 7th.

The draws for the 2017 championships are set to be made at that meeting.
