Clare have fallen to their third consecutive defeat in division two of the National Football League.
The Banner looked set to record a famous victory over Dublin in Croke Park as they led by six points with just twelve minutes remaining in the contest.
However Dublin would go on to strike for seven points without reply in the final quarter to win by the minimum on a full time score of 0-16 to 1-12.
