One of the men who recently left the Clare senior hurling panel has expressed his anger at the disciplinary measures imposed on him by Clare boss Davy Fitzgerald.
Eire Óg's Davy O'Halloran was one of two players who departed the squad last week after it was deemed that they had breached disciplinary guidelines when they were found to be socialising two nights before Clare's League opener against Galway.
O'Halloran has told The Irish Times that they wren't drinking alcohol, but that he then felt "humiliated" when forced to train away from the rest of the squad and denied access to the team's changing rooms.
He has also claimed that a senior member of the squad was exempt from similar sanctions despite what he regarded as a more serious breach.
Clare hurling management declined comment when contacted by Clare FM, though it's understood that they felt the matter had to be dealt with, and that another squad member who was disciplined accepted the measures set out and remained with the panel.
