O’Connor: Clare Were Rewarded For Brilliant Work Rate In Munster SHC Win Over Waterford

Clare have picked up their first points of the 2018 Munster Senior Hurling Championship.

A dominant display in Cusack Park saw them beat Waterford by 2-27 to 2-18 with Peter Duggan and John Conlon finding the back of the net in the opening half.

The Deise were reduced to 14 men midway through the second half after captain Kevin Moran was shown a straight red for an off the ball challenge on Tony Kelly.

Clare joint manager Gerry O’Connor felt the Banner’s greater workrate was crucial in getting the victory.

Up next is trip to take on Tipperary in Thurles on Sunday June 10th with the Premier sharing the spoils with Cork in Semple Stadium yesterday.
