Clare's senior hurlers have been given a boost as they continue their preparations for their Championship opener with Limerick.
2013 All Ireland winner Nicky O'Connell has re-joined the Clare Senior Hurling Panel, weeks after he had left it.
The Clonlara man had left after being found to be in breach of the squad’s Code of Conduct, with Eire Óg's Davy O'Halloran also leaving after claiming he had been humiliated by the disciplinary procedures imposed by the management.
However, Clare FM understands O'Connell approached management in a bid to re-join the panel, and spoke to the squad at a meeting last night.
He re-joins his brother Cathal Tots O'Connell who was also disciplined for breaching guidelines, but decided to accept the punishment handed down and remained with the squad.
Meanwhile Clarecastle's Stephen O'Halloran has decided to leave the panel but management have confirmed the door remains open for him to return in the future if he should wish to do so.
Meanwhile, there were two matches in the Clare Cup last night.
O'Callaghans Mills beat Clonlara 0-15 to 0-12, while Sixmilebridge overcame Clooney-Quin on a scoreline of 0-22 to 1-13.
