O Connor claims top book prize

Christy O Connor’s "The Club" has been named William  Hill book of the year.

The Doorabarefield man beat off opposition from autobiographies of John Giles and Bernard Dunne to claim the top prize.

 O Connor’s book was one of two Clare books on the shortlist with Tony Griffin’s "Screaming at the sky" also nominated for the prestigious award.
