No New Injury Concerns For Clare Ahead Of All Ireland SHC Semi Final Replay

Clare’s John Conlon insists they have no concerns about the short turnaround to Sunday’s All Ireland Hurling Semi Final replay against Galway.

It’s understood the Banner have no new injury worries after the draw in Croke Park while the Tribesmen are sweating on the fitness of a number of key players including Joe Canning and Gearoid McInerney.

Both sides have already faced games on consecutive weekends during the new round robin campaigns but Clare haven’t played week on week since the lead up to the conclusion of the provincial series.

Conlon reflected on the game in Croke Park:

Galway are sweating over the fitness of Gearóid McInerney ahead of Sunday’s semi-final replay against Clare.

The centre-back was forced off with a suspected calf strain in the drawn game last Saturday and remains a major doubt for Sunday’s clash at Semple Stadium.

McInerney went for a scan yesterday to determine the extent of the damage.

Hurler of the year Joe Canning looks to be winning his race to be fit after picking up a knock to his knee at the weekend.

Adrian Tuohy and Conor Whelan are also carrying slight niggles.

Two-time All-Ireland winner with Clare Jamsie O’Connor thinks McInerney’s injury will be of particular concern to Galway boss Micheál Donoggue:
