One of Newmarket Celtic’s star men believes a strong emphasis on player welfare enabled unparalleled success in 2023.
The South-East Clare outfit was bestowed with the Council’s highest honour of a civic reception last night in recognition of a historic quadruple winning season, which involved two national cups, an all-island cup and the domestic Premier League.

Among the consistent standout performers during this campaign was Captain Eoin Hayes who combined his commitments with international duties and lining out at midfield for the Newmarket-On-Fergus senior hurlers.
Hayes says a forward thinking approach ensured players could perform at their best.
