FAI Munster Junior Cup: Newmarket Celtic 5 – Shannon Town 1
Paddy Purcell’s outfit will now have last eight ties to look forward to in both national and provincial competitions following victory over Shannon Town this afternoon.
The South-East Clare neighbors faced off in the last 16 of the FAI Munster Junior Cup, in what would turn out to be a goal-fest in Lynch Park.
A brace of goals each from Darragh Leahy and Davy McCarthy along with a James Fahy header sent Celtic on their way to victory, while a strike in the fifteenth minute for Shannon Town’s Brian Monaghan ultimately proved to be little consolation.
Newmarket Celtic remain unbeaten in all competitions this season.
