A new cup is to be presented to the Munster Hurling Champions.

Munster GAA have announced that, following a proposal by the Limerick County Board, a new trophy in memory of three-time All Ireland winner Mick Mackey will be awarded to the provincial champions.

The current trophy, which is similar in design to the Liam MacCarthy Cup, will be stored in the Munster GAA offices in Limerick alongside a number of other cups retired in recent years.
