Munster Post-Primary School’s U-19A Dr.Harty Cup Final: Nenagh CBS: 2-16 (22) V Ardscoil Rís 0-21 (21)
An Ardscoil Rís outfit with a strong Clare contingent have suffered Harty Cup heartbreak in Cusack Park in the most dramatic circumstances this afternoon.
Cratloe’s Marc O’Brien and Mungret St.Paul’s Fintan Fitzgerald led the way for Ardscoil striking 0-05 apiece, while Sixmilebridge’s Michael Collins and Clonlara’s Eoin Begley also found their range.
For the Tipp Men, substitute Austin Duff reinvigorated the attack after being sprung from the bench on twenty-four minutes to ultimately produce a haul of 1-01.
At the break the sides departed to the dressing rooms level on a score-line of 1-08 to 0-11.
The sides continued to trade scores in the second period until Ardscoil had eked out a two-point lead in additional time.
The Limerick based outfit looked on track to claim their sixth Harty Crown after netminder Fionn O’Brien pulled off a superb save in the town end goal in the dying embers of the contest, however in the ensuing goalmouth scramble, the sliotar would soon make its way to Moneygall’s Andy Hoolan who raised the green flag for Nenagh CBS to secure the victory by the minimum in the most dramatic of circumstances.
