Nash beaten but Clare enjoy underage handball success

Tuamgraney’s Diarmuid Nash was beaten by Kerry’s Dominic Lynch last night in his mens’s singles open clash in Broadford.

The Clare man losing out on a tie breaker 21-13 having won the opeing game 21-8 and losing the second 21-17.

Ella Donnellan captured the 14 singles title with an empahtic win over Cork opponent 15-2,15-4.

Alana Ryan captured the 15 singles title on a 15-7-,15-6 scoreline while Doireann Murphy and Cloadgh Nash had a comprehensive win in the 16 doubles category on a 21-3, 21-4 scoreline.

Amber Nolan of Tuamgraney club battled hard but lost out to Kerry in the 12 singles.

In the boys section Ian Murray narrowly lost to Waterford in a thrilling tie break

In the boys blue ribbon event Fergal Coughlan of Clooney Handball Club continued with his impressive run of form when he defeated Darragh Lyons Waterford 21-12, 21-14 in the 16 singles final.

In the 17 doubles Club mates Sean Donnellan and Ciaran Cooney defeated Cork 21-3, 21-10.
