Murray takes South of Ireland

Pat Murray has been crowned champion of the South of Ireland Championship.

After over two decades of trying the  Secretary/ Manager of Limerick Golf Club finally lifted the trophy at Lahinch last evening, following his 2 hole victory over Stephen Healy of Claremorris.

He had contested seven semi-finals before yesterday and never reached the actual decider, losing at ties holes

Murray’s name is the latest on an illustrious list of winners of the South of Ireland, which was first held in 1895.
