Munster Rugby Squad Update

Following their weekend heroics in the Heineken cup, Munster returned to training in UL today with Gerhard Van den Heever and Andrew Conway back from injury.

Van den Heever returns after sustaining a hand injury on his debut, with Conway back after suffering a blow to his knee last month.

Keith Earls won’t train today and will follow IRB return-to-play protocols after suffering a concussion in the 78th minute of the match against Perpignan at the weekend.

Elsewhere in the squad injury update, Paddy Butler continues with his own re-integration to training as he recovers from fracturing his right thumb.

Simon Zebo is recovering well from a cracked bone in his left foot and has started rehab running.

The Irish international is expected return to training over the Christmas period.

Mike Sherry will undergo surgery this week on his ACL knee injury and is expected to be ruled out for up to six months.

That injury means Rob Penney may look to draft in some cover for the remainder of the season.

All Black hooker Andre Hore is a reported possibility to land to the south west on a short term deal.

THe 35 year old has played 83 times for New Zealand.
