It was defeat for Miltown St Josephs in their Munster Intermediate Final at the hands of Clyda Rovers of Cork.
David O’Briens charges dominated the opening six minutes going four points to no score up through Conor Cleary with two points, and Eoin Curtin and Eoin Cleary with a point each.
However Clyda Rovers dominated theaction from that point, James Murphy kicking five points, and one from Conor Flanagan making it a 0-06 to 0-04 lead for the Cork side at half time.
New Clare Coach Paudie Kissane registered his first point for Clyda Rovers after the resumption, the 8th minute into the second half, while two minutes later Murphy added another to make it double scores at 0-08 to 0-4.
Eoin Cleary ended a thirty six minute wait for a Miltown score with a point in the twelfth minute of the second half, but Clyda Rovers pulled it back to a four point advantage almost immediately.
Eoin Curtin added his second mid way through the second half making it a three point game at 0-09 to 0-06.
Kissane put Clyda Rovers ahead again ten points to six in the 53rd minute, and Miltowns Eoin Curtin ended scoring in the Gaelic grounds on the sixty minute mark at 0-10 points to 0-07, Clyda Rovers capturing the Munster honours.
