Munster FA Criticised For Not Calling Off Newmarket Celtic Quarter Final

The PRO of the Clare Soccer League says the situation Newmarket Celtic was put in by the Munster FA ‘bordered on ridiculous’.

The East Clare team were due to face Tipperary’s St Michael’s this afternoon and were advised by the Munster FA that their venue had to be rendered playable by Saturday afternoon despite heavy snowfall.

Volunteers cleared snow from the pitch but on closer inspection of the venue and its surrounds, the game was called off on safety grounds.
