Monaghan United have withdrawn from the Airtricity league premier division with immediate effect.
The club has blamed an inability to find an anchor sponsor as well as the expense of being part of the league and a lack of support from the league itself for the withdrawal.

Club management have assured all their creditors that all accounts with them will continue to be honoured.
