Clare joint hurling manager Donal Moloney says he was pleased with how players applied themselves during their opening round win of the Munster Hurling League.

The Banner overcame a stiff challenge from Kerry in Tralee before pulling away to record a 2-24 to 1-15 win thanks in part to goals in either half from debutante Kevin Hehir and stand in captain Podge Collins.

Moloney says they came through a real battle

Next up for Clare is a clash with Limerick in Sixmilebridge on Wednesday evening with a 7.30pm start
