Moloney Hopeful Ahead Of Munster Semi-Final

The manager of the Clare U21 hurlers who are preparing to get the defence of their All Ireland crown underway says he's hopeful the success of recent years will benefit the current squad.

Donal Moloney takes charge of a Clare side without Gerry O'Connor for the first time, after a partnership that brought three All-Irelands in a row came to an end last year.

A number of players are now overage and thus unavailable tonight, but Moloney is confident the current crop of players.

Elsewhere, the search for a new Offaly hurling manager has begun.

Brian Whelehan stepped down from the role last night in the wake of a winless Championship campaign which ended with a loss to Clare in Ennis.
